Peroxisomes are not the right candidate for Chief

Peroxisomes are the cell structures that break down fatty acids, oils and break down toxic substances. But peroxisome is also not a good candidate for the Chief because there are many defects that come with this organelle. One of the main defects that are widely known is the Zellwegger syndrome. This disease is cause of defects in one of the 13 genes of the PEX genes. This Zellwegger spectrum can have overlapping symptoms. The Zellewegger syndrome results from “dysfunctional lipid metabolism and defects of bile acids and plasmalogens”. There are many symptoms that can occur from this syndrome and some of them affect the facial structures because it can make a high forehead, neurological abnormalities, and even to the point of not being able to move. The pain is very unbearable and the citizens deserve a better organelle as Chief.  So once again we can see that peroxisome is not a good fit to run the office as Chief Organelle.

Golgi Body does not deserve the promotion

 Golgi Apparatus should not be named the Chief Organelle because if this organelle is not functioning properly there can be many severe consequences. But the most related diseases to this organelle are the “15 congenital disorders of the glycosylation”. From this it can be understood that if the organelle is not working properly it can harm the person in a lot of ways. These disorders happen if the genes for the glycosylation enzymes are mutated and not working the way it is truly supposed to. And if these mutations do happen, it can be lethal to the person starting from the age of 2. And some of the symptoms that can occur if this organelle is not working properly is it can affect the liver, cause seizures, and sometimes even cause mental retardation to the respective person. So from all this, it can be understood that it is not the wise choice for the Golgi Body to be the Chief Organelle.

Cell Membrane is not fit for Chief posistion

The Cell Membrane is also not a good choice for the Chief Organelle because there are a lot of problems that can occur if the cell membrane is not working properly. The function of the cell membrane is to allow what can be transported in and out. So the job of the cell membrane is to regulate what comes in and out of the cell. So imagine that your cell membrane is not working properly; if this happens there are many diseases and defects that can occur. Some of the diseases that are know if the cell membrane does not work is Cystic Fibrosis, diabetes, and other diseases. And these diseases happen because the cell membrane is not working properly most likely because the membrane proteins are not functioning properly so it is not regulating what is going inside and outside of the cell. Because the protein is malfunctioning and cell membrane not regulating of what is going in and out, dangerous pathogens can enter the cell like viruses by attaching to the protein receptors. The job of the organelle is to protect the cell but sometimes it allows harmful substances so it does not deserve the Chief Organelle position.  So this shows that the Cell Membrane is not the right choice for Chief Organelle.

 

Mitochondria not the right fit for Chief Organelle

The Mitochondria would not be a good fit for the position of Chief Organelle because even though they produce energy for the body they also cause a lot of harm and danger to the body. There are many defects and disorders that can happen if the mitochondrion does not function properly and it may even be so serious that it may cause death.  One of the widely known defects if the mitochondrion is not functioning properly is called the mitochondrial disease. Since it is the job of the mitochondria to produce energy, when it does not produce enough energy for the cell to function then the cell will start to die off. When the defect does happen it causes the most damage to the cells of the brain, heart, liver, skeletal muscles, kidney, endocrine, and respiratory system”. So we see that it affects all the vital systems of the body, so if the mitochondrion does fail the cell start to die off fast and the body can’t function properly anymore. According to the source if the mitochondrion does fail it can cause many other problems like “loss of motor control, muscle weakness and pain, gastro-intestinal disorders, cardiac disease, liver disease, diabetes and many other problems. So for the election it would not be the wise chose to have the mitochondria as the Chief Organelle. 

Reasons Why Lysosome should not be Chief Organelle

Lysosomes are not the fit candidate to be Chief Organelle because there are defects and disorders that can happen if it is not functioning properly. A know disease that can happen if the lysosome is not working properly is the Lysosomal Storage Disorder. According to the source it is” inherited disorders caused by a deficiency of specific enzymes” because it is required to break down complex carbohydrates like glycosaminoglycans. But the problem is when these enzymes are not produced, the breakdown of the carbohydrate is blocked. And when it is blocked it interferes with the whole function of the lysosome cause it to disrupt and not work properly, and this disruption gives way to the Lysosome Storage Disorder.There are also many other disorders that are connected to the lysosome, so the lysosome is not the right fit for Chief Organelle. 

Vote for the Smoth ER

The citizens of Eukarya are going through civil unrest and they need a leader and the Smooth ER is the best fit for this position. The Smooth ER  has a wide range of functions including the synthesis of carbohydrates and lipids. In liver cells the smooth ER produces enzymes that help to detoxify certain compounds. The organelle is really important in this matter, because when a person drinks alcohol, Smooth ER is the organelle that produces the enzymes to detoxify the toxins from the alcohol.  It is also important in muscles, because the Smooth ER allows for muscle contraction by regulating calcium concentration and in brain cells it synthesizes male and female hormones. So in conclusion, we would like for you to vote for the Smooth ER for a smoother life.
